Meet Dr. Joy

Gregory N. Joy, M.D., M.B.A. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Certified LASIK Surgeon.

 Having had refractive surgery himself, Dr. Joy personally understands the questions and hesitations that patients have prior to a refractive procedure.

Dr. Joy grew up outside the Boston area and attended the University of Massachusetts where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was awarded the distinction of Massachusetts Common Wealth Scholar. He subsequently earned his Masters in Business Administration and graduated third in his class. Dr. Joy was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma National Graduated Honor Society and was awarded the Shaffer Eatton Award for academic excellence.

Attending medical school at the University of Texas at Houston, he graduated at the top of his class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After completing an internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas, he moved to Seattle, Washington for his surgical residency in Ophthalmology.

Dr. Joy worked in several group practices before opening his own practice in Syracuse, NY. He then joined Jefferson Eye Surgeons in Watertown, NY and now has offices in Syracuse, NY, Watertown, NY and Alexandria Bay, NY.

He is a board certified Ophthalmologist and has a clinical faculty appointment at Upstate Medical University where he has been active in surgical training of Ophthalmology residents.

REFRACTIVE EXPERIENCE

Dr. Joy has extensive experience with multiple lasers used for LASIK Surgery and has been performing refractive surgeries for twelve years with state of the art technology and a personal, caring touch.
 
He is also experienced in performing Multifocal Intraocular Lens implantations, as well as, astigmatic management using limbal relaxing incisions. With extensive training and practiced experience, Dr. Joy is able to take care of your vision needs, regardless of your eye condition.
